Commeweekender: Djauw Coffee

Nestled at the end of the lane of Petak Sembilan which is Jakarta's Chinatown, is Djauw Coffee ( @djauwcoffee ),
our #CommeWeekender choice of destination which we visited a couple weeks ago.

Djauw Coffee is one of the only remaining authentic coffee experiences you can find in the area. Upon entering, you'll feel like you've been transported to your grandparents house, filled with old portraits of the early 80s and 90s era as well as wooden chairs and tables with unique carvings. A paradise for bicyclists, we parked our bikes at their parking area and we continued to put in our orders.

Upon their recommendations, we ordered the Donat Kentang, Kaya Toast, Kopi Hitam, and Kopi Susu Aren. To say the least, each bite was truly a burst of flavors. The coffee we highly recommend is the Kopi Hitam. Served piping hot, the Kopi Hitam was authentically prepared in hot sand, like Turkish coffee, which resulted in a more strong, bold, and bittersweet taste.

Djauw Coffee receives a Comme Weekender seal of approval. We highly recommend this joint and we hope everyone enjoys the experience as much as we did.
