The one tour that will never be forgotten. Maybe these words can perfectly sum up
and describe this years' Third Comme Studios National Tour to Samosir Island!

Samosir Island, is a large volcanic island in Lake Toba, located in the North of Sumatra, Indonesia. This island is located at an altitude of 1000 feet from the sea. The feeling of starting a ride at an altitude of 1000 feet from the sea is truly breathtaking.

Firstly, we would like to thank all participants, all CommeUNITY Thai friends, Sweetvarnvarn, SpartanKia from Medan, CommeUNITY Indonesia and many others that we cannot mention one by one. We want to thank you all for your continue support from beginning to end. Without you all, this event wouldn't have happened.

We held this tour to strengthen the relationship between fellow community members and to bring together the Comme Studios family. While we were there, we made sure to help the committee take care of things including lifting the bike boxes together as well as helping each other in assembling bicycles. That's the difference about our CommeUNITY. We are in this together, no matter what.

On March 4th we started the ride by circling 1 island including the route to the famous Sibea Bea. This was over 160km with a total elevation of 1600m. Before starting we were hit by some heavy rain, but that didn't hinder our enthusiasm to keep going. During the trip we passed 3 pit stops and at the 3rd pitstop we stopped for lunch with a spectacular view from the top of Sibea Bea. Unfortunately the iconic Jesus statue was still being built and was not finished yet. We will plan a trip to come back and see the statue for sure. After lunch we still faced quite a decent incline to get to the finish point. The view on the way up increased our enthusiasm and it sure was worth the pedal.

In the evening, we enjoyed a night with the everyone where we all sat down for dinner together and created core memories with each other. All while being serenaded by music and accompanied by some dance.

We did the not-so-easy coffee ride for about 35km as the flights were scheduled quite early. Everyone still managed to enjoy the overall warm atmosphere the incredible sceneries in Samosir Island.

After spending 2 days riding in Samosir Island, some Thai friends and several CommeUNITY members made their way to Medan for a full fledged culinary trip and one last hurrah, before then flying back to their respective lives. An experience that is truly memorable, and one to tell generations to come. We can't wait to see you again in our next Commeunity tour!
